
Sports Medicine Advisor
Dr. Shane Barton graduated as a Presidential Endowed Scholar from Texas A&M University, working as a computer engineer with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) at Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. He then attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine, graduating with Honors, and completed his Orthopaedic surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine. From there he went on to the Harvard Medical School-Massachusetts General Hospital where he finished his fellowship training in Shoulder and Sports Medicine in 2005. He is an Assistant Professor at LSU-Health Sciences Center, in Shreveport, Louisiana, and is the Medical Director of Sports Medicine for the Willis Knighton Health System, and was previously a Graduate Clinical Instructor at Harvard Medical School. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Barton specializes in disorders of the shoulder, knee, elbow, and ankle, as well as all sports-related injuries.
While in Boston, Dr. Barton served as the assistant team physician for:

- Harvard University, Cambridge, Ma.
- Curry College, Milton, Ma.
He now serves as the team physician for:
- The USA Weightlifting Development Center at LSU in Shreveport, caring for members of USA Weightlifting's World and Junior World Teams
- Bossier City/Shreveport Battlewings professional football club of the Arena Football League 2
- Shreveport Sports professional baseball club of the American Association Independent League
- Louisiana State University-Shreveport (LSUS)Pilots

- Justin Sports Medicine Team, providing medical care for regional professional and amateur rodeo competitors in Texas, Louisiana, and the Southeastern U.S.
